NABH accreditation for B J blood bank soon
The B J Medical College blood bank will become the first such unit in a government set-up in India to be accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare (NABH).
B J Medical College Dean Bharat Shah said: “The college has already sent its documents. The inspection is done, and the go ahead is awaited.”
According to Gujarat Commisionerate of Health and Medical Services and Medical Education, a Quality Council of India (QCI)-appointed team did the final assessment of the blood bank on January 4.The blood bank will get the NABH accreditation within a week, according to health department officials.
This accreditation is provided when an underlying entity is found complying and conforming to strict standards and parameters prescribed by NABH. It is a proof of excellent systems and standards adopted by the hospital in providing world class healthcare facilities. |
